It wasn’t a camera that first defined Arsheen Reza’s career—it was a crossroads. Science or art? Passion or practicality? The daughter of a camera-loving father and a lifelong creative at heart, Arsheen chose science. She earned her degree, built a career in lab research, and followed the path many parents would call “sensible.” But when her son was born, everything shifted. Suddenly, the long days in downtown Toronto no longer aligned with the life she envisioned. She picked up a Nikon D90, began capturing her child’s earliest milestones—and never looked back.

Today, Arsheen is the lead photographer and founder of AREZA Photography, a boutique wedding photography brand based in Oakville, Ontario. Known for her emotionally charged imagery, artistic portraiture, and thoughtful client care, she specializes in weddings that feel as meaningful behind the lens as they do in real life. “My goal,” she says, “is to truly see people. I want my couples to feel understood—not just photographed.”

A Photography Style Rooted in Emotion and Art

Arsheen’s approach is deeply intuitive. Her work blends documentary storytelling with editorial flair, often weaving quiet, intimate moments into fine art compositions. She’s not chasing trends—she’s chasing meaning. She’s drawn to the in-between glances, the tearful toasts, the dance floor joy, and the soft hand-squeezes that say everything words can’t.

It’s no surprise that many of Arsheen’s award-winning images aren’t traditional portraits—they’re unscripted, emotionally resonant frames. “For a long time, I felt disappointed that my ‘best’ images weren’t the classic couple shots,” she admits. “But I’ve learned to embrace it. Capturing honest emotion is what I do best.”

This philosophy has become a signature of the AREZA brand: honest, intentional, and art-forward. Arsheen even offers clients a uniquely personal product—a hand-edited digital painting from their wedding or engagement session, turned into a large, custom-framed fine art piece. “It’s about preserving how the day felt, not just how it looked.”

The AREZA Experience: Depth Over Volume

Arsheen only takes on around 15 weddings per year, by design. “I’m not trying to be everywhere,” she says. “I want to be fully present with each couple—from the first consultation to the last photo delivery.” Her clients aren’t just names on a calendar; they’re people she gets to know deeply. She remembers their parents’ names, their family dynamics, and the creative ideas that light them up.

This depth of service is especially valued by couples who aren’t working with a wedding planner. Arsheen becomes a trusted guide—someone to talk timelines, first-look logistics, floral palettes, and Pinterest boards with. “I’ve had clients call me to brainstorm linen colours or ceremony layout. I’m happy to be part of those conversations.”

AREZA’s approach is also collaborative—Arsheen often works with her husband, who shares her passion for photography. Together, they strike a balance: she’s the creative lead, and he supports with second shooting and logistics. It’s a partnership built on trust, humor, and years of shared vision.

From Family Moments to Full Weddings

Arsheen’s wedding journey started the way many photographers’ do—reluctantly. She was nudged into her first wedding after gaining traction as a family and child photographer. “I was terrified,” she recalls. “It felt like so much responsibility.” That first South Asian wedding? Six hundred guests. No planner. Total chaos. But also, total exhilaration.

It wasn’t long before she realized that weddings energized her in a way no other kind of photography could. “There’s so much life in a wedding day—so much love and energy. I can go until 2 a.m. and still be riding that high.”

Today, she embraces a mix of weddings—primarily in the Greater Toronto Area, especially on the west side near Oakville, where she’s now based. She’s open to destination weddings too and has already photographed one in Mexico. Europe, especially Italy, is on her wish list.

Clients Who See Photography as Art

AREZA couples tend to be detail-oriented and art-aware. Many of Arsheen’s clients work in architecture, design, or creative industries—or simply value storytelling and aesthetics. They don’t just want wedding photos; they want images that feel like artwork.

This mutual understanding is key. “When someone chooses me, I want to understand what they find beautiful—so I can reflect that back to them,” she explains. “My best work comes from that connection.”

As Arsheen continues to grow AREZA Photography, her goals are clear: keep evolving artistically, shoot fewer but more meaningful weddings, and work with couples who genuinely trust her vision. She’s not chasing volume. She’s cultivating legacy.

“My dream weddings aren’t the biggest ones,” she says. “They’re the ones where people cry freely, laugh loudly, and trust me to capture it all.”
