Pearls, Puns, and a Vintage Mercedes — Megan & Braelyn in Edmonton

Pearls, Puns, and a Vintage Mercedes — Megan & Braelyn in Edmonton

Some love stories don't need embellishment. Megan and Braelyn's put it plainly: eight years of constant puns and goofy love, and these two finally tied the knot. What followed on June 28th was a wedding day that honoured exactly that — warm, unhurried, and unmistakably them.

The Morning

The day began at the Metterra Hotel on Whyte, where Megan and Braelyn prepared in separate suites while the photo team documented both mornings in parallel. Braelyn's look was old Hollywood — polished and composed, brought to life by hair stylist Nicole Fusco and makeup artist Camilla Valenzuela, both of Revive Hair Loft. It set the tone for a day rooted in timeless elegance, even as the couple's personality kept things decidedly fun.

The Ceremony

Megan departed for the ceremony in a 1967 Comet. Braelyn arrived by vintage Mercedes. Together, they were exactly the kind of couple that makes a venue like Hastings Lake Gardens feel earned.

Set on a working estate in Sherwood Park, Hastings Lake Gardens earns the word romantic without trying too hard — garden-vined arbors, stone pathways, and a landscape that shifts beautifully with the light. The ceremony unfolded with classical grace before laughter filled the garden as the newlyweds made their exit — because of course Megan and Braelyn walked out to The Office theme. Eight years of puns, right on cue.

Portraits and Cocktails

Following the ceremony, the couple moved through two settings for portraits: the gardens at Hastings Lake, then into downtown Edmonton for Art Deco shots along Whyte Avenue. The contrast worked — soft greenery giving way to the architectural edge of the city's most storied street.

Cocktail hour was held at The Bell in Scona Brewery, a beautifully preserved vintage building with real brick walls, rustic wood finishings, and large arched windows that pull in generous natural light. For a wedding this rooted in timeless aesthetics, it was a natural fit.

The Reception

The evening reception carried the day's theme through to its finish — pearls, candlelight, and the kind of effortless joy that comes from a couple genuinely at ease with each other and everyone around them. The Bell in Scona's warm, vintage character made the space feel intimate without being precious — exactly the right backdrop for a celebration eight years in the making.

A Wedding Worth Remembering

Megan and Braelyn's day is a good reminder that the best weddings aren't built on trends — they're built on knowing exactly who you are as a couple and letting that lead every decision, from the processional music to the exit song.
