What Are The Canadian Wedding Photography Awards?

The Canadian Wedding Photography Awards (CWPA) is a series of image competitions hosted by Canadian Wedding Photographers, created to celebrate and showcase the exceptional talent and creativity of our members.

We host six competitions per year, and members are invited to submit up to 25 images for each competition. Winners are determined through peer voting, where every member has the opportunity to cast votes while the session is open.

How Does Voting Work?

When voting opens, you’ll be presented with four images within the same category. Simply select the image you feel is best to cast your vote.

All images are displayed randomly, ensuring a fair balance across all submissions. Voting is unlimited for the duration of the voting period, but votes for your own images are not counted and will not influence results.

How Do I Win?

Each CWPA edition recognizes 50 winning images—the Top 5 photos in each of our 10 categories.

Winning images earn points, which contribute to each photographer’s overall ranking. These points determine who earns the right to be recognized among the best wedding photographers in Canada. You can see the current rankings here.

Each year we announce the Canadian Wedding Photographer of the Year, the Top 30 in Canada, and the Best Wedding Photographers by Province.
