Alina Tunik's journey into photography wasn’t a straight path, but rather a winding road of discovery. Born and raised in Ukraine, she initially pursued a master's degree in investment management but soon realized her true passion lay elsewhere. She enrolled in a two-year photography program, and while studying, she began booking her first clients. By the time she graduated, she was not only working as a photographer but also teaching photography to teenagers.
For several years, Alina balanced her roles as a marketing associate and later as a producer at a Ukrainian stock photography studio while growing her photography business, CVITLYNA—a name derived from the Ukrainian word for “photo.” Many of her early clients kept coming back for engagement shoots, weddings, and family sessions—which made her realize how much she loved documenting different milestones in people’s lives.

Since moving to Canada in 2021, Alina has built a thriving photography business, working with families, couples, and notable brands like LinkedIn and Marriott. Toronto’s diversity has been especially inspiring, deepening her love for wedding photography.
“My style is natural, documentary, and timeless,” Alina explains. “I focus on genuine emotions, small details, and moments that often go unnoticed but hold the most meaning.”

Alina’s approach is centered around making her clients feel comfortable and relaxed. Before any session, she takes the time to have a casual conversation—sometimes over Google Meet—to understand their personalities and values. This allows her to tailor each session to their unique story.
“I love that I can follow my clients through different stages of life,” she says. “I might start with a portrait session, then their engagement, wedding, and later their maternity and family sessions. It’s amazing to be there for these moments and build relationships over time.”

As her business continues to grow, Alina is excited to take on more wedding photography, including destination weddings. She thrives on capturing real, unfiltered moments—from quiet, intimate exchanges to joyful celebrations. Every couple’s story is unique, and her goal is to document those once-in-a-lifetime memories in an authentic and timeless way.
Beyond photography, Alina has a love for film, live music, contemporary art, good coffee, hiking, and exploring authentic restaurants. She believes in making every day count and brings that mindset into both her personal life and her work.

“Photography is more than just a job for me—it’s something I genuinely love,” she shares. “But I also make sure to step away and recharge, whether it’s spending time with loved ones, exploring new places, or simply enjoying a quiet moment. I believe that having a well-rounded life makes me a better photographer. After all, the best way to capture emotions and real moments is to truly experience life yourself.”
For couples looking for a photographer who sees beyond the surface, Alina Tunik offers more than just wedding photos—she offers a carefully curated narrative of love, emotion, and human connection.
