Before she ever photographed a wedding, Christina Palmer was already studying faces—her own, her friends’, anyone willing to pose. Growing up in Mitchell, Manitoba, she spent her high school years experimenting with angles, light, and expression. It was her Grade 11 teacher, Mr. JP, who recognized her potential and sparked something lasting. A few grad shoots, a Canon Rebel gifted by her family, and Christina was off and running.
Today, Christina is the lead photographer behind CsPhotos, based in Steinbach and serving couples across Manitoba. With more than 13 years of experience, she’s built a reputation for her warm, light-filled imagery, confident direction, and ability to make clients feel completely at ease. She’s shot weddings in Mexico, Jamaica, and Calgary, but most of her work happens close to home—balanced thoughtfully with raising her two children and managing her editing queue like a pro.
“I limit myself to 5–15 weddings a year,” she says, “because my time with my kids matters. But when I show up to a shoot, I’m all in.”

A Direct Yet Joyful Approach
Christina is an extrovert with assertive energy—traits that serve her well in the fast-paced world of weddings. Whether it’s wrangling a distracted wedding party or making a camera-shy couple laugh naturally, she leads with clarity and confidence. Her style blends portraiture and photojournalism, shaped as much by how she shoots as by how she edits.
“My editing is consistent, but I adapt the way I shoot depending on the couple or the day,” she explains. “What stays the same is the prep I put in—and the way I guide people through the experience.”

That guidance is one of the first things her clients mention. She knows how to pose people in a way that feels both natural and elevated, never forced. It’s a skill honed over more than a decade, but also one that comes intuitively.
“I’ve always enjoyed posing people. Even when I was just starting, it felt like second nature.”

Driven by Connection and Experience
Christina doesn’t chase trends. What drives her is something deeper: the relationships, the variety of traditions, and the satisfaction of creating something lasting. “I love being able to capture one of the most important moments in a person’s life—and then seeing their joy when they relive it through my work.”
That emotional payoff keeps her going, even in the thick of wedding season. “My kids keep me motivated,” she says. “But so does good time management and not taking on more than I can handle.”
Christina’s work has been featured in magazines and television, and in 2025, she earned a Canadian Choice Award for Steinbach Wedding Photographer of the Year. While she remains focused on her clients and their stories, she’s also looking ahead—always learning, always evolving.
“My posing and personality make me unique,” she says. “But there’s always room for growth. I want to keep improving my creativity, my camera skills, all of it.”
