Growing up on the rugged west coast of British Columbia, Danielle Boone’s childhood was steeped in creativity. Surrounded by the artistry of her father, a true-to-life oil painter, Danielle developed a keen eye for emotion and detail early on. Her first encounter with photography came in a high school film class, where developing black-and-white images in a dark room captivated her imagination. Yet, her path to becoming a wedding photographer was far from linear—a blend of personal experiences, wanderlust, and the resilience shaped by life’s unexpected turns would eventually guide her lens.
“I’ve always been obsessed with creating cinematic and film-like imagery,” Danielle reflects. “Capturing raw emotion, documenting life, and telling stories in their most organic, vulnerable form—it spoke to me.”
Her own wedding, photographed by Jeremy Koreski, a now-renowned outdoor and nature photographer, further inspired her. Shortly after, life introduced new challenges, including her husband’s military career and subsequent early retirement due to a training accident. These experiences deepened her appreciation for love, connection, and the fleeting beauty of shared moments—a perspective that continues to inform every wedding she captures.
Crafting Memories: Danielle’s Learning Curve
Danielle’s journey into professional photography was self-directed and intensely personal. Though she started with humble equipment and no formal mentorship, her passion fueled countless hours of study, practice, and experimentation. “From humble beginnings to luxury celebrations, my expertise was built through self-driven learning, long nights, and an unwavering belief that talent evolves where passion is nurtured,” she says.
Her first wedding shoot was nerve-wracking but exhilarating. “I had to give myself a pep talk in the car,” Danielle laughs. “Even now, I still get a little nervous—though now it’s more adrenaline than anxiety.”
Transparency, honesty, and skill became cornerstones of her career. Early clients trusted her authenticity and creativity, and through each project, Danielle’s reputation for delivering meaningful, emotive imagery grew.
The Photographer Today: Style, Approach, and Vision
Now based in Seba Beach, Alberta, Danielle photographs approximately 50 weddings annually, ranging from intimate elopements to larger celebrations across Canada and internationally. She describes her style as fine art, editorial, moody, cinematic, and romantic with a documentary approach, blending her vision during the shoot with careful post-processing to elevate each image.
“Each couple is unique, so my approach shifts to reflect their personalities and the magic of their day,” Danielle explains. “No two weddings are the same, and the images should feel as unique as the love they celebrate.”
Her workflow begins with in-depth communication and a tailored photography timeline. While weddings can never be fully orchestrated, Danielle thrives in capturing unplanned moments that reveal authenticity and emotion. Though gear is secondary to vision, she favors Nikon cameras and prime lenses, immersing herself fully in the day’s narrative.
Connecting With Couples
Danielle’s ideal clients are hopeless romantics drawn to storytelling and cinematic artistry. Her clients consistently remark on the ease, comfort, and beauty of working with her. “I’ve never felt so beautiful, these are incredible, thank you for making this so easy,” they say—words that Danielle cherishes as affirmations of her mission to create timeless, soulful memories.
Her ultimate goal is to expand her international elopement offerings while mentoring other photographers to honor their unique vision and individuality. Danielle’s approach champions authenticity, artistry, and emotional resonance above all else.
Inspiration, Rituals, and Resilience
A true romantic at heart, Danielle draws inspiration from period films, vintage music, untamed nature, architecture, stormy skies, poetry, and romance novels. Even on the most exhausting days, she grounds herself with meditation, time outdoors, and music tailored to each session’s vibe—a ritual that maintains her creative spark.
Balancing the emotional intensity of weddings with the solitary demands of post-production, Danielle protects her peace through nature, exercise, and clear boundaries. She approaches
