When Martin Olszewski picked up his first camera at 14, handed to him by his father, he didn’t just discover a hobby — he found a language. One that spoke in light and shadow, motion and stillness, intimacy and grandeur. Today, that language has become the signature voice of M+M Photography, Martin’s Hamilton-based wedding photography studio that has documented more than 500 love stories across Ontario and beyond.
Raised in Mississauga and now settled in Waterdown, Martin's journey into professional photography is rooted in both artistic obsession and emotional resonance. His work marries the elegant precision of editorial fashion with the raw vulnerability of documentary storytelling — a balance that evokes the cinematic richness of a classic film, but always grounded in real life. “My style is a blend of photojournalism with a Vogue-meets-fashion aesthetic,” Martin explains. “Elegant, emotional, and timeless.”
That commitment to both drama and authenticity has made Martin a standout voice in Ontario’s wedding photography scene. With weddings stretching from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake, he captures full-day celebrations — from the quiet buzz of the morning prep to the final creative portraits lit with off-camera flash under the stars. His ability to shift gears throughout the day, adapting to the energy of each couple and the rhythm of each wedding, is one of the reasons clients consistently describe him as both calming and joyful — “like working with a friend.”

Before weddings entered the frame, Martin’s photography roots were formed in the darkroom of his high school. The hours spent learning exposure, composition, and development taught him the value of patience and precision. But it wasn’t until 2010 — when he photographed his first wedding — that everything clicked. The dynamic energy, the layered emotions, and the challenge of creating both art and memory in real-time left him hooked. “No two weddings are the same,” he says. “Even at venues I’ve shot at before, I’m always looking for a fresh angle, a new story.”
Clients gravitate toward Martin not just for his polished style, but for his deep investment in the people he photographs. He’s someone who listens first, then crafts. Someone who understands that great photography isn’t only about technique — it’s about presence, connection, and trust. His typical clients come from all walks of life, but share one thing in common: a desire to see themselves — honestly, beautifully — in the images he creates.

Outside of photography, Martin lives a life of contrasts that echo in his work. He’s a competitive powerlifter and motorsport racer, drawn to physical intensity and technical precision. But he’s also a reflective soul who meditates, spends time with family, and believes deeply in personal growth. That balance is what sustains him through the demands of wedding season — the long days on his feet, the long nights in front of a screen, and the creative fire that needs constant fueling. “The hardest part is getting there,” he says. “But once I’m behind the lens, everything else fades.”
Over the next chapter of his career, Martin hopes to not only continue elevating his work but to give back to the photography community by mentoring newer creatives. “This craft has given me so much,” he reflects. “And I think there's real joy in helping others grow into their own vision.”
With over a decade of experience, a distinct cinematic style, and a heart firmly rooted in the stories of others, Martin Olszewski doesn’t just capture weddings — he curates unforgettable visual narratives that couples return to, year after year.
