McLean Mill Wedding Stories
Brooke and Adam’s wedding at McLean Mill was a heartwarming display of community and creativity. The couple, known for their love of classic cars and craft beer, arrived in a 1964 El Camino and an old Chevy truck before exchanging vows under the water tower. Guests cheered them on with bubbles as they walked back down the aisle. Their outdoor reception in the courtyard was adorned with handcrafted paper florals made by the bride’s mother and thrifted décor, including salt and pepper shakers, tea cups, and growlers. Family and friends played a huge role in making the day special—cooking dinner for all 175 guests, baking the donut display, and even altering Brooke’s 100-year-old thrifted wedding dress. The night ended with a surprise champagne spray from their wedding party and a playful cake-smashing moment between the newlyweds.
Stefanie and Garret embraced the rustic charm of McLean Mill by getting ready on-site—Garret at the campground with his friends and Stefanie in one of the old workers’ houses. Their sunny September ceremony took place in front of the pond, where heartfelt vows were exchanged, and their officiant brought plenty of laughter to the occasion. Stefanie’s humorous touch was evident when she dramatically blew dust off her vows, joking about how long the moment had been in the making. The couple’s first dance on the outdoor terrace captivated their guests before everyone enjoyed a relaxed pizza dinner in the reception hall. One of the most memorable highlights of the evening was Stefanie’s request for a portrait of every guest wearing heart-shaped sunglasses, a quirky and fun way to document their loved ones.
For Kaitlan and Marcus, McLean Mill’s blend of history and nature made it the perfect venue, especially given Kaitlan’s background in ecology. Their wedding was filled with unique personal touches, from farm-style tables decorated with succulents, moss, and even dinosaur figurines to their whimsical processional set to the Jurassic Park theme song. Their ceremony was officiated by a close friend who had crafted a custom storybook for the occasion, adding an extra layer of sentimentality. The lush forested backdrop and historic mill surroundings provided endless creative opportunities for their wedding portraits, making their day both visually stunning and deeply meaningful.
The Perfect Venue for Rustic & Nature-Loving Couples
McLean Mill is ideal for couples who appreciate rustic elegance, love the outdoors, and want a venue with deep-rooted history. Whether you envision an intimate ceremony surrounded by nature or a lively reception beneath twinkling string lights, this historic site offers a versatile and unforgettable setting for your special day.
