Some people fall into photography. Others are born for it. For Candice Ross, it was always in the cards—though she may not have known it at first. What started as a fascination with freezing fleeting moments has evolved into a full-blown passion, turning her into one of the most exciting wedding photographers working across the Maritimes today. With a camera in hand and a heart full of wanderlust, Candice has built a career that blends storytelling, artistry, and adventure.
“I love that I get to meet and learn about my couples,” Candice shares. “It’s incredibly rewarding. I’ve made so many long-term friendships and have followed families from their wedding day to their third child. It’s amazing.”

That emotional connection is at the core of her work. For Candice, photography isn’t just about beautiful images—it’s about people. Their stories. Their journeys. The way two lives intertwine, creating something uniquely theirs.
While Candice has built a strong reputation shooting weddings throughout Nova Scotia, PEI, and beyond, her passion for travel has naturally led her into the world of destination weddings. From the sun-soaked beaches of the Dominican Republic to the rolling hills of Tuscany, she’s developed a portfolio that spans continents.
“I love to travel, and I think it really fuels creativity to be in a totally different environment,” she explains. “It’s good for the soul.”

Her approach to destination weddings is refreshingly intentional. While many photographers rely on styled shoots to showcase their work abroad, Candice’s focus is on authenticity.
“I’ve done a few retreats in Italy and absolutely loved the opportunity to learn and grow creatively in those environments,” she says. “But I’m really excited to have full creative control over an actual wedding in Italy this year—it’s going to be something that truly reflects my style.”

That style—filmy, editorial, and emotionally rich—is what makes her work so memorable. Her imagery carries a cinematic quality: timeless, bold, and deeply emotive.
Despite her talent, Candice’s path into destination wedding photography was far from calculated. One of her most exciting international bookings came about in the most unexpected way.
“I was doing this part-time job,” she laughs. “It was supposed to last through my slow season, but it ended after six weeks—right in my busiest season! But while I was there, I met this girl while we were assembling IKEA furniture. We were just chatting, and she mentioned she was getting married in Italy. I congratulated her, and she casually said, ‘I don’t have a photographer.’”

What happened next was pure fate. Candice showed her work, and not long after, she was officially booked for a wedding in Italy.
“No marketing, nothing,” she says. “It was completely organic.”

Photography is more than a job for Candice—it’s a way of life. While the schedule can be grueling, she wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“I’m at a point in my life where I can do this,” she says. “I don’t have small children at home anymore, and I can fully focus on what I love. Every step I take leads me exactly where I’m supposed to be.”

That next step might take her to a shoot in Montreal or an elopement in Iceland. Regardless of the destination, one thing remains constant: Candice will be there, camera in hand, capturing love in all its forms.
Her work isn’t just about stunning visuals. It’s about preserving the moments that matter—the laughter, the quiet glances, the untamed joy. And that’s exactly why couples trust her to tell their story.
