Family and Farm Life

Nathalie lives on a multi-generational farm with her husband and two daughters. Her family’s life is rooted in the countryside, surrounded by dirt roads, forests, and mountains, offering a serene backdrop that frequently inspires her photography. "It's a pretty simple life," she shares, highlighting the blend of tradition and creativity in their everyday existence. Her husband, who works in Management at a company that specializes in snow removal equipment, plays music on weekends and lovingly supports her artistic endeavours. Together they've created a household where creativity thrives alongside simplicity.

Photography Journey

Nathalie’s entry into wedding photography started about 14 years ago when her first born was just a year old. Over the years, her daughters have grown up with their mother’s camera constantly clicking away, sometimes modelling for her shoots. Nathalie’s eldest daughter, with her striking red curly hair, often appears in her work, while her youngest is eager to learn the ropes of photography, even shooting in manual mode.

Balancing Family and Work

Balancing family life with the demands of wedding photography has been a journey filled with challenges and adjustments. Nathalie recalls the "mom guilt" she felt initially, struggling to be present for her children while working from home. Over time, she found a balance, ensuring quality family time while fulfilling her professional commitments.

A poignant moment in Nathalie’s career was during her father's battle with leukaemia. She recounts working on a wedding in a hotel room while her father was in an induced coma, realizing that she needed to shift her priorities and find a more sustainable way to manage her work and personal life.

Community Over Competition

Nathalie believes strongly in community over competition, appreciating platforms that promote collaboration and support among photographers. She values opportunities to connect with other creatives, share experiences, and grow together as a community.
