Who Can Get Married in Nova Scotia?
To qualify for a marriage licence, you must:
- Be at least 19 years old
(16–18-year-olds may apply with written parental consent) - Be mentally competent to marry
- Be unmarried
- Not be closely related by blood or adoption
Same-sex marriages are fully recognized in Nova Scotia. There is no residency requirement to apply.
